Revised Budget and Facebook Meeting

Meeting Notes

  • Tim recognized a quorum of seven and called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm.

 

Seascape Entrance Improvement

  • Tim said he heard from a two Association members who volunteered to put together some ideas for a new design for the main entrance.  When the members have their ideas ready they will present it to the board for review.

Budget

  • Marianne reviewed the 2020 budget and the proposed new format. 

  • 112 members have paid their dues with 2 more members committed to sending in their payment, bringing the total number of members expected for 2020 to 114, the same number of dues collected as last year. 

  • Marianne explained the new format of the budget and balance sheet.  The new format allows the board to see the amount of the money in the bank to date.

  • Marianne reviewed the budget, stating we have sufficient funds to pay for the expected remaining outstanding bills through the end of the year. 

  • The board discussed and commented on the beach and road expenses, which were high and considered well-spent for the year, and  

  • next year we anticipate the road fund will be replenished.

  • The board approved the budget and new format.

Roads

  • Michael Shea the chairperson for the road committee discussed the need to seal the cracks in the roads prior to the cold weather. 

  • Mike said he would follow up with a plan to complete the work.  The board concurred with Mike that the cracks need sealing now.

Beaches

  • Tim spoke with Charlie L. who said he will proceed with getting the snow fences installed on B beach.

Facebook

  • Tim introduced Erin DiMella to the board. 

  • Erin has volunteered to set up a Facebook account for the Seascape Association.

  • Erin explained that her interest stems from Facebook’s function, which allows for a two-way communication among members, making it easier for neighbors to communicate and get to know each other. 

  • The account would be private, by invitation for all Association members and their invited family members. 

  • Erin said she would volunteer to be one of the monitors of the content on the page and she suggested that two other people, maybe board members also be monitors.

  •  Erin provided a suggested set of rules for use of the Facebook account.

  •  The board asked Erin for a refinement of the rules. 

  • The board unanimously reached a preliminary agreement to go forward with the plan for a Facebook account and expressed their appreciation to Erin. 

Communication

  • Tim is working on and will send out a season end letter to the association.

New Business

  • No new business was offered.

Tim adjourned the meeting at 7:45pm.
