Presidents Responsibility

As stated in the Seascape Association Bylaws, Article VI Duties of the Elective Officers, Section 3, as well as other references to the duties of the President: The President shall preside at all meetings, shall be an ex-officio member of all committees and shall exercise general supervision over all activities of the Association.

As stated in the Seascape Association Bylaws, Duties of the Elected Officers Article VI, Section 6: The President is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors for one year following the term of office.  The President is elected for one year and may be re-elected once.

Term: The term for the President is one year and he/she may be reelected

Responsibilities

GENERAL

An authorized officer of the Association with the power to represent the Association in all matters and commit capital and resources within the limits outlined in “The By-Laws of the Seascape Association, Inc.”
Responsible for all Association activity as the Chief Operating Officer during the fiscal year
Insure all regulatory and fiscal requirements are met by the Association
Provide periodic communications on activities to the Association membership and Board
Manage and direct approved security/monitoring resources
Resolve disputes within the Association.

COMMITTEES

1.Form Ad-hoc committees as needed
2.Appoint all Committee Chairpersons, appoint the members of the committee with the chairperson and be a member of each committee
3.Committee chairpersons report to the President.
4.Require all Committee Chairpersons to prepare and submit their committee’s annual report including accomplishments, plans, budgets, nominations and any Association By-Laws and Rules proposed changes. Review and approve Committee plans/recommendations. Track all approved Committee plans/budgets during the fiscal year with the appropriate chairperson and the treasurer. Provide guidance, assistance and resources to chairpersons in order to achieve their plans

BOARD MEETINGS

Call annual Board meeting and submit committee plans to the Board for review and approval.
Determine the need for and call all Association and Board meetings
Determine the Quorum at all Association/Board meetings
Determine the official tally of voters at all Association/Board meetings

APPOINTMENTS

1. Approve, with the Board of Directors, the recommendations of the Nomination Committee for new/replacement officers
2. Appoint interim officers and board members to fill openings that occur during the fiscal year

ANNUAL ASSOCIATION MEETING

Prepare the Annual President’s Letter for the June Annual Association Meeting
Develop the agenda, schedule the meeting and chair the Annual Association Meeting
Determine the need for and call all Association and Board meetings.

FISCAL

Approve changes to plans and budgets during the fiscal year within the limits of spending outlined in the By-Laws.
Solicit approval to the Board or the entire Association based on costs as outlined in the Bylaws, for changes to plans or budget that exceed approval levels during the fiscal year.
